The Growing Need for Senior Pet Care
Across the country, more and more senior animals are entering local shelters. Too often, this happens when their beloved human companions move into a nursing home, enter hospice, or can no longer provide the level of care their pets need.
These cats, once cherished members of a family, find themselves abandoned or surrendered during the most vulnerable stage of their lives. Sadly, older animals are often overlooked in shelters due to age, health conditions, or special needs.
We believe that senior pets deserve better. Whenever possible, family members should step forward to ensure these loyal companions live out their days in comfort and peace.
At TenderLovingKittyCare, our mission is to provide that very chance. We work to save senior and “special need” cats from kill- shelters and provide a safe and loving home for them. Whether their time left is a week, a month, or a year, every animal deserves dignity, warmth, and love.
Upon intake, each animal is carefully evaluated by our staff and veterinary partners. Together, we determine whether a pet will remain in lifelong hospice care with us or be eligible for adoption into a permanent home. Each case is treated individually, with compassion and thoughtful care guiding every decision.
